Cooking Pasta

The most frequent question asked by guests and newly trained cooks is:

What is the proper way to cook pasta?

The answer is:


1 – Bring the water to the boil (1 liter water for 100 g pasta).
2 – Add the salt. Preferably use coarse salt, 10 g of salt for 1 liter of water.
3 – Wait until the water is boiling again, because the salt will make the temperature go down slightly.
4 – Add the pasta and cook al dente following the instructions on the pack (every type and make of pasta has a different cooking time).
5 – Drain off the boiling water two minutes before the cooking time is up.
6 - Mix the pasta with the sauce and cook for the remaing two minutes, then serve.
